Miscarriage

In recent years ultrasound scanning has become the most accurate diagnostic method for the diagnosis of miscarriage and is usually offered to women experiencing suspected miscarriage symptoms. Diagnosing miscarriage through ultrasound scanning is not always easy and there are cases in which repeated ultrasound scanning is needed before a pregnancy loss can be diagnosed. In case of miscarriage, tissues from pregnancy are naturally removed from the womb by strong contractions. Ultrasound is helpful, however, in determining whether the natural process of miscarriage has been successful or surgery is needed to facilitate recovery.
